This Australian native grows as a small erect and open shrub with linear aromatic leaves, 15mm long, small white flowers that occur in clusters at the ends of branches and put on quite a show with a profusion of blooms in late Winter to Spring, clusters hold 20 - 100 individual flowers, some varieties of pink are known but this listing is for the standard white.
The flowers make a fabulous cut flower or filler for floristry and is long lasting.
Best grown in full sun to part shade in a wide range of well drained soils, best to prune back after flowering to maintain a bushy habit otherwise can become straggly in cultivation.
It is drought tolerant, moderately frost tolerant and is very adaptable to a wide range of conditions.
Makes a great garden plant and is low maintenance, looks great in coastal plantings, cottage gardens, poolside, as a feature, in containers, as a background or understorey planting, as an informal hedge, low wind break, in parks, reserves, verges and also is seen widely as a roadside planting.
These shrubs also attract bees, butterflies and other insects.
