The Native Morning Iris or Purple Flag, Orthrosanthus multiflorus is a clumping plant with Iris like foliage to and form to 50cm originating from South Australia and Western Australia.
The flowers are delicate and six petalled in a pale mauve to blue to 3cm and presented on stems slightly longer than the leaves. They will flower from seed in the first year and flower each season afterwards.
They are dainty plants that require a well protected shady position with ample water and are frost resistant accepting temperatures to - 7°C.
