This is a Australian native with a variable habit, growing 30cm - 1m tall and has hairy foliage to 3.5cm long and highly ornamental pom pom shaped purple to pink flowers with yellow anthers, globular seed capsules follow and hold tiny seeds.
 
Best grown in full sun in Mediterranean climates with soil that has excellent drainage.  
It is found naturally growing on sandy or stony soils in SW WA and does not like areas of high humidity.
 
This is a highly ornamental species that looks great in the garden as a feature or as a border, it attracts birds, bees and insects.
