This Melaleuca is endemic to central and SW WA, growing naturally on red sand, sandy clay, clay loam, on stony hillsides, lateritic outcrops, dunes and swales.
Growing as a tree or shrub 1 - 7m tall with narrow spoon shaped leaves with a rounded or blunt point at the ends, the leaves contain essential oils, the most abundant being alph-Pinene and 1,8-cineole (Eucalyptol), flower spikes are white to creamy white occurring in Spring to Summer with 4 - 11 individual flowers and are 15mm in diameter.
Best in well drained soil in full sun and is frost hardy.
Makes a great hedge, garden shrub or tree, windbreak or screen, even as a Bonsai specimen!
