This highly ornamental Melaleuca is native to SW WA and grows as a compact erect shrub 1 - 3m tall and up to 1 - 2m wide with a profusion of pink to purple pom pom shaped flowers to 2cm across that occur near the ends of branches in Spring to Summer.
 
This is a species that is not often seen, but has great horticultural potential!  
It is tolerant of drought and saline soils, prefers a full sun position in well drained soil.
 
Perfect for coastal locations, makes a lovely flowering hedge or screen and attracts nectar and insect feeding birds, butterflies, bees and other insects and certainly makes an impact when in full bloom.
