This attractive WA native grows as a dense, bushy, erect shrub, 0.5 - 3m tall with dark green, concave elliptical to oval leaves, 15 - 25mm long and has gorgeous creamy yellow globular clusters of flowers at the ends of branches, 30 - 35mm in diameter in Spring - this has much bigger flowers than other similar Melaleucas and are quite stunning!
 
Naturally grows in heath on sand, sandstone and rocky hills along the central coast of WA.
Best grown in full sun to part shade in well drained soils and is easily propagated by seed, prune to encourage a bushy habit. The flowers attracts birds, bees and insects and can also be made into a delicious sweet drink!
 
This plant is native to dry SUmmer climates in WA but has been successfully grown in more humid climates but is rarely cultivated, I think it should deserve more recognition, it has great horticultural potential!
