Melaleuca incana, commonly known as the grey paperbark, is a medium sized shrub or small tree reaching 3 to 5m with attractive pendulous branches and blue green foliage which is an unusual feature in Melaleuca and has attractive cream to lemon yellow flower spikes to 3.5cm in the Spring. 
 
This is an old favourite with a well deserved reputation as a good garden species, although it can suffer from scale and associated black smut.  It is frost hardy and accepts most soils but it is not reliable on the east coast north of Sydney.
