This is a slow growing shrub growing 1 - 2m tall with rough and scaly bark, narrow leaves and creamy white Bottlebrush-like flowers that are held in lateral clusters of 3 - 6 on a very short axis in Spring, followed by globular fruits on old wood.
 
It is found naturally growing as an understorey plant in Eucalypt or Mallee woodland or on sandhills in WA, NSW, VIC and SA.
It is tolerant of frost, waterlogging and also dry conditions.
