This Leptospermum grows as a large shrub or small tree to 6m tall with papery bark that sheds in strips or flakes, the leaves are large for a Tea Tree and have silky hairs on both surfaces and white flowers from Spring to Autumn to 18mm wide, the new growth is an attractive silvery colour from the dense hairs covering them.  Seed capsules that follow the flowers persist on the plants for many years.

Leptospermum grandifolium makes an excellent low level cover for windbreaks, provides habitat for small birds and is a good nectar and pollen source for insects, moths butterflies and insect eating birds.

Best in full sun to part shade, prefers moist to wet soils and prune to maintain a bushy habit.

Found naturally growing in moist to wet soils in gullies and sheltered slopes of mountain forests, sandy swamps and rocky streambanks, can also tolerate light frost and snow.

This listing is for 200 premium quality seeds shipped on receipt of cleared funds.
