The Dusky Coral Pea is a vigorous climbing plant with dark green trifoliate leaves and a red pea flower, somewhat similar to Sturt's Desert Pea and is a hardy climber often found naturally in a wide variety of locations ranging from sand dunes exposed to salt spray to heathland, open forest and rainforest on the east coast of Australia from Victoria to Queensland. 
 
A profusion of flowers appear in Spring and Summer and is a tough, hardy and adaptable plant that can be used either as a screen or as a groundcover and makes a fine and unusual showing.
