Isopogon dubius - Rose Coneflower / Pincushion Coneflower - 10 seeds
This compact shrub is an Australian native endemic to SW WA and has a rounded habit that grows up to 1m tall, the pinnate leaves are 4 - 5cm long, deeply divided into many narrow segments with a sharp point.
The deep pink flowers that are 5cm in diameter occur at the ends of branches in Winter to Spring, followed by barrel shaped seed pods that persist on the plant for an indefinite period.
This species is best in climates with dry Summers in well drained soil in full sun, tolerates moderate frosts and low Summer rainfall.
Prune lightly after flowering to maintain bushiness and vigour.
This species is well known in cultivation and makes a lovely flowering garden specimen, it attracts bees, birds and butterflies and is suitable for coastal gardens and cut flowers.
Grows naturally in forest and woodland heath on sandy and gravel soils in SW WA.
