This is a West Australian native that grows as an erect, pungent and open shrub 0.2 - 1.8m tall with a single stem or multi stemmed habit with dark green, rigid leaves with very sharp pointed tips.  Beautiful blue to purple pea shaped flowers with small white centres are borne singly or in groups of 2 - 3 occur from Autumn to Spring.

Grows naturally on shallow soils on rock, sandy soils, laterite gravel, clay and loamy soils on granite outcrops, coastal limestone flats and undulating sandplains.

This is a prickly plant so care needs to be taken where situated, works well as a security screen and is a good habitat for birds and other native fauna.
