Ficinia nodosa is a hardy fast growing clump forming wetland species that has an upright to weeping habit with fine green rush-like foliage native to QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA and TAS.  It has insignificant creamy brown flowers that form the more decorative brown globular seedheads approximately 1.5cm toward the tips of the stems from mid Spring to Summer and best grown in full sun to part shade as an understorey plant.

Ficinia nodosa can be grown in all soil types, tolerates damp feet, drought tolerant once established and prune back to ground level when messy and overgrown or if it loses its shape - this also promotes the health and vigour of the plants.
Apply a slow release native blend 8 - 9 month fertiliser when planting out or after pruning.

Looks fantastic when mass planted, near water features, in coastal applications, for erosion control, as garden borders, verges, median strips and in roundabouts.
