Myrtaceae - No shipment to Western Australia or TasmaniaEucalyptus spathulata, commonly known as the Swamp Mallet is a small growing tree indigenous to Western Australia and is found near lakes and depressions over much of the south-west of Western Australia in the 350 - 500mm annual rainfall range, from Wongan Hills to Ravensthorpe. This is a distinctive tree, normally 6 to 10m in height that is easily recognised by its thick linear leaves which form a dense dark green canopy of foliage. It has smooth coppery brown bark ageing to grey over a pinkish-red to shiny tan coloured trunk and its dense crown of very narrow, glossy olive coloured adult leaves adds another colourful dimension.Swamp Mallet has white flowers in the late Summer and Autumn months and is tolerant of sand, clay and salt. This is an extensively cultivated, rapid-growing, adaptable tree that is widely cultivated in southern Australia for its attractive crown and smooth satiny bark and is particularly useful for poorly drained, including mildly saline, soils and is widely used in salinity reclamation plantings.75 premium quality seeds shipped on receipt of cleared funds.
