This is an Australian native, endemic to WA growing as a Mallet or Marlock having a dense canopy, 5 - 7m tall with smooth sometimes shiny bark that is grey  green over a copper brown.
 
Juvenile foliage is ovate to orbicular, 4 - 6.5cm long x 4 - 6.5cm wide and adult foliage is broadly elliptical to orbicular, 3 - 6cm long x 2 - 6cm wide, glossy dark green to olive green in colour.
 
Reddish coloured flower buds occur in 7 per umbel and open up to reveal lemon green to creamy yellow flowers, rarely pinkish red in Spring to Summer, fruits that follow are obconical with four longitudinal ridges, 1 - 1.7cm long x 1 - 1.2cm wide.
 
Native to the south coastal and subcoastal areas in WA often in pure dense stands on hard clayey soils, sandy soils, loamy clay, laterite, plains, hilly and rocky country.
