Eucalyptus nicholii - Willow Leaf or Black Peppermint - 50 Seeds

The Willow leaf peppermint, Eucalyptus nicholii, is an attractive, decorative slender leaved and willow-like tree with a rather compact crown and is originally from the tablelands of north eastern New South Wales but is now extensively cultivated throughout much of south eastern Australia and overseas. 
 
Growing to approximately 8 to 10m tall, it is frost tolerant, fast-growing and will thrive in any good soil as well as drier, poorer gravelly soils. 
 
It has blue-grey bark that is smooth when young becoming stringy and fibrous as it matures with leaves that are long and thin - 8 to 15cm long by 1 to 2cm wide and young foliage and new growth is an attractive purplish-bronze lending variety and colour. 
 
Flowers are white but somewhat insignificant and occur in Autumn. 
 
It is a useful and versatile ornamental and shade tree and makes an excellent Bonsai subject..
