This Australian native tree grows as a tree to 20m in height or Mallee to 5m tall, forms a lignotuber and grows on dry sclerophyll woodlands on infertile sandy soil, preferring rocky rises and hills in QLD and NSW.
 
It has rough grey bark that is hard, fissured and fibrous, the juvenile foliage is dull green linear to falcate or narrowly lanceolate, 6 - 19cm long x 0.3 - 1.3cm wide, adult foliage is narrowly lanceolate to lanceolate 6.5 - 18cm long x 0.7 - 2.7cm wide and is slightly glossy or dull green and has 7 flower buds per umbel that open up to reveal white flowers.
