This Australian native grows as a multi stemmed tree to 4m or as a single stemmed tree to 10m in height, forms a lignotuber, it has smooth barks that is pale grey that becomes dark and sheds in strips, mostly cream and grey over pink, brown or yellow.
 
Juvenile foliage is ovate to oblong 4 - 7.5cm long x 1 - 2.5cm wide and grey green in colour, adult foliage is lanceolate to falcate, 5.5 -10cm long x 1 - 2.2cm wide and glossy dark green in colour.
It has 7 - 11 flower buds per umbel and white to creamy yellow flowers occur throughout the year.
 
Grows naturally on coastal footslopes, 2nd line coast plantings, plains, footslopes and hills.
