The Silver or Buxton Gum, Eucalyptus crenulata, is a small tree to approximately 10m tall and features handsome grey foliage that is now often used as ornamental foliage in the floristry trade. 


The bark is smooth, grey with silver streaks, leaves are sessile, rounded to 3 - 5cm and finely crenulated with the young foliage at the ends of the branchlets bluish. 


It has white flowers and is a frost hardy species that has proved successful in cultivation both in Melbourne and Canberra. 


It is a vigorous and useful species that accepts most soils and poor drainage and can withstand moderate coastal exposure.  It makes an attractive ornamental, low windbreak or shelter tree.
