Eucalyptus camphora, commonly known as Mountain Swamp Gum is a a tree to approximately 22m in height and occurs from near Wallangarra, Queensland to near Glen Innes, New South Wales, from Rylstone to the Megalong Valley, New South Wales and from the southern highlands of new South Wales to southern Victoria where it grows in valleys and swamps of mountainous regions in forest.
 
On this species the bark decoriates over most of the trunk leaving the trunk smooth with the bark, grey to grey-brown to almost black.  Both juvenile and adult foliage is concolorous green, the white flowers appear from Autumn and this species is a koala browse. 
 
It has the ability to withstand light shade, is frost tolerant and can withstand poor clay soils and prolonged water logging.
