This Australian native shrub grows to about 2m tall with an open and prickly habit. oval to elliptic sharp pointed leaves, similar to Acacia phyllodes, they have the typical pea shaped flowers that are yellow with reddish brown markings singly or in leaf clusters from Winter through to Summer with triangular seed pods that follow.
It is widespread in distribution, in QLD, NSW, TAS, SA, WA and VIC growing as a rigid shrub usually occurring in dry sclerophyll forest.Best in full sun to part shade in well drained soil, it is drought tolerant when established and is low maintenance.Use in low traffic areas or as a barrier plant, a screen or hedge, in coastal plantings, on coastal footslopes, it can also be used to restrict access to areas due to the prickly nature.It is also a great habitat for birds and small mammals and attracts bees, butterflies and other insects.25 premium quality seeds shipped on receipt of cleared funds.
