Callistemon viminalis - Weeping Bottlebrush - 250 seeds

Callistemon viminalis is a large shrub or small tree growing to 12m with a weeping habit and light green, lanceolate leaves.  Flowers are borne in profusion through Summer and Autumn and are bright red, spikes can be as long as 7.5cm.
With its long flowering period, large bright red flowers and handsome weeping habit, this species is worthy of a place in almost all gardens. 
 
It appreciates a light prune after flowering but will respond to heavy pruning if required. 
 
Like most Callistemons, it is are adaptable to a wide range of soils and climate, can tolerate less than perfect drainage but usually perform best in gardens with reasonable drainage and regular availability of water and responds to well to annual fertilising after flowering and are not as sensitive as some other Australian plants to phosphorus.  
 
Callistemon viminalis is less frost tolerant than some other Bottlebrush species to -4°C.
 
Propagation is very easy from seed.
