Callistemon pityoides is a somewhat variable shrub dependent upon its location, growing to 1m tall and 1m wide.
It takes its name from the form of foliage which in this case are narrow pine like leaves, an attractive feature of this species is the attractive silver grey new foliage.
The attractive creamy yellow, sometimes slightly orange, blooms appear in the Summer.
Like most Callistemons, it is are adaptable to a wide range of soils and climate and this species has the advantage of being particularly frost resistant and will happily accept wet or dry soils.Propagation is very easy from seed.
