This WA Native grows as a low, compact shrub reaching 0.1 - 0.6m tall with small leaves that are crowded along stems with sharp points.

Red tubular flowers that are five petalled occur in Autumn or mid Winter to Spring, these are followed by fruits that are small berries.
 
Grows naturally in Wa, predominantly in the Geraldton Hills, Geraldton sandplains, the greater Geraldton region through to Perth on sandy and lateritic gravelly soils.
 
It is drought resistant but not frost tolerant, best grown in full sun to part shade.
