Hippeastrums produce large striking trumpet flowers from Spring to Summer and flowers are borne on stems to 40cm tall held high above the green sword like foliage and make a great show as either single specimen blooms or massed flowers in a bed. 

Hippeastrum can be grown in the ground or a potted plants and can be sited in full sun or dappled sunlight.
