This is an erect or spreading shrub with a dense and compact habit from 1 - 3m tall with linear phyllodes, yellow globular flowerheads in the leaf axils in Winter to Spring.  
Best in an open sunny position and is found growing naturally in SA, VIC and NSW in Mallee, often in reddish sandy loams on low sand dunes.
 
It is a very ornamental Acacia that can be a feature, screen, windbreak, barrier, habitat for birds and attracts bees, insects and other insects.
