Acacia pycnantha - Golden Wattle - 30 seeds
Australia's floral emblem, the Golden Wattle, Acacia pycnantha, is a delightful and beautiful pendulous shrub or small tree that grows up to 9m tall featuring attractive bright green phyllodes and in the Spring gives a spectacular showing of large golden globular shaped flower balls in long loose clusters.
While it is blooming it fills the air with a delightful fresh fragrance and is attractive to bees, insects, honey eating and insect collecting birds.
This is a fast growing species that is drought resistant, frost resistant to -7°C once established and useful in near coastal conditions if given some protection from salt bearing wind. It likes a well drained sunny position with ample watering.
