A fast growing small tree growing 5 - 8m tall x 3 - 5m wide with a rounded habit, feathery silvery grey bipinnate foliage with attractive bright purple new growth and 1cm wide lemon yellow globular flowers occur en masse from Winter to Spring.  
 
Best in full sun in well drained soil but it is adaptable to a wide range of soils and conditions but prefers to be grown in Mediterranean, warm temperate or cool temperate climates with low humidity and is tolerant of wind and frost.
 
Great as a feature tree, as a screen, windbreak, erosion control, for foliage colour and attracts bees, insects and seed eating birds.
