This is an Australian native tree growing 6 - 20m tall, forming a lignotuber, with smooth and very powdery bark, new bark is pale pink to yellow that matures to white, sometimes weathering to grey just before decortication.
Dull blue green to grey green glaucous leaves are 7 - 20cm long x 3 - 9cm wide and in Winter to Spring, small creamy white flowers appear.
Usually found growing naturally in heavy soils on seasonally flooded, low lying areas or swamps of the western part of the Top End of NT and central and northern Kimberley region of WA.
